Luke Wilson and Brother Andrew to Co-direct New Film
Luke and Andrew Wilson, who teamed up to direct "The Wendell Baker Story" in 2005, are all set for a new collaboration, "Electric Avenue".
Andrew Wilson, though not as well known as his brothers Luke and Owen, also works in Hollywood. He's had roles in "Fever Pitch," Mike Judge's "Idiocracy," "The Royal Tenenbaums," "Zoolander" and Drew Barrymore's upcoming directorial debut, "Whip It."
Now, brothers Luke and Andrew are all set to direct together again. Speaking with MTV's Josh Horowitz while promoting "Whip It," Andrew revealed the first details on "Electric Avenue".
"I'm gonna direct again. Luke and I are going to do something... called 'Electric Avenue' starting in January or February," Andrew said. "It's going to be [starring] Luke and," he pauses... "somebody else who I'm not at liberty to announce quite yet since it's real exciting."
Wonder who it could be? Maybe the third Wilson brother, Owen? Andrew refuses to divulge the secret, though he does provide some more details on the plot of the movie.
"It's kind of like a 48 Hours'-type buddy comedy," he said. "Except instead of cops, they're reporters."
FYI, 48 Hours is a classic Nick Nolte/Eddie Murphy comedy in which Nolte's cop teams up with a convict, played by Eddie Murphy, who has been temporarily released from prison to assist him with a case.
