Quaids Freed on Bail

Randy Quaid and his wife have posted bail after being arrested for skipping out on a hotel bill.

Randy Quaid and wife Evi posted bail for $20,000 each after being arrested for allegedly neglecting to pay a hotel bill of more than $10,000.

The couple is accused of using a bad credit card at a hotel in Santa Barbara, Calif. The pair was arrested in Marfa, Texas on Thursday after the issue of a warrant in Calif., BBC News reports.

While in custody, a local sheriff drove Quaid to a bank so he could take out bail money. "I like to help everybody out," said Presidio County Sheriff Danny Dominguez. "It's a small town."

While Quaid was not handcuffed, Dominguez said the actor received no special treatment.

According to the arrest warrant, the Quiads face charges of burglary, defrauding an innkeeper and conspiracy in June.

Quaid, the elder brother of actor Dennis, is best known for his roles in National Lampoon's Vacation, Independence Day and The Last Detail.
