Jackman Stops Show Due to Cell Phone Interference

Hugh Jackman and Daniel Craig are co-starring in a Broadway play called �A Steady Rain.� The play is a drama about two Chicago policemen and the relationship between them, the play opens tomorrow till December 6 for a limited engagement run.

Recently at the preview showing of �A Steady Rain�, during an intense scene where Jackman�s character is revealing some haunting memories, a cell phone in the crowd went off.

Jackman stepped out of character, turned to the disturbance and said, �You want me to get that� and �Come on just turn it off� amid cheers from the audience. Jackman paced the stage until the phone stopped ringing and then the play resumed as reported on TheAssociatedPress.com.

The performance of �A Steady Rain� will be at Broadway�s Gerald Schoenfeld Theater in New York City. There is a customary announcement over the loud speaker reminding guests to turn off their phones, and since the incident ushers at the theater have been giving a second reminder.

Jackman has been on Broadway playing Peter Allen in �The Boy from Oz� in which he won a Tony in 2004. This is the first time Craig has appeared a Broadway play.

According to TMZ.com, a member in the audience caught the incident on camera.
