Lauren Conrad-s book -LA Candy- Soon to be a Movie

Lauren Conrads debut novel LA Candy will soon make it to the big screen.

Lauren Conrad's novel about a regular girl (like herself) whose life changes when she moves to Hollywood and ends up on a reality show, is going to be made into a movie. Call it a case of life imitating art. Her debut novel has been on the New York Times' bestseller list for 14 weeks, and it was probably just a matter of time before she took it to the next level.

It was Conrad who approached production company Temple Hill Entertainment partners, Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey, to make the film. Conrad is also executive producing the film with her company Blue Eyed Girl Productions.

'Lauren, who became an icon in that reality show world, came to us with a structure of how to tell the story in an interesting fashion that was separate and apart from the book,' Marty Bowen told Variety. 'We loved her take.'

In July, a source close to Conrad told People Magazine that she was fielding offers to produce a film from her bestselling book released in June (the first in a three-book deal with HarperCollins) but that she didn't want to act in it.

Let's hope they manage to make an interesting movie out of the book. For all you know, the entire film might be but an echo of what we've already seen on The Hills. We might just end up thinking, 'Why do I feel like I've seen all this before?'
