Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem Engaged?

According to several online reports, Cruz and her boyfriend, fellow Spanish actor Javier Bardem, are engaged.

The couple, who first met while filming "Jamon, Jamon" in 1992, before working together again in 2008's "Vicky Cristina Barcelona," have kept a low profile during their two-year romance.

"They tried to keep it very private and quiet," a source told UsMagazine.com about the engagement.

Cruz's rep had no comment and Bardem's rep said, "I really don't know, but would not be able to say anything even if I did."

However, Cruz has stated publicly that she has doubts about the institution of marriage. "I don't know if I believe in marriage," she told U.K. magazine Psychology Today in its August issue. "I believe in family, love and children."

This is the latest rumor about Cruz, the previous one being that she was expecting a baby with Bardem. However, Cruz has denied the rumors. "I start getting some presents from friends saying, 'Congratulations, you're pregnant.' And I say, 'No, I'm not, so return the presents,'" she told USA Today.

We'll just have to wait for admission or denial of the latest rumor now!
