Chris Rock sued over "Good Hair"

Chris Rock is accused of copyright infringement in his upcoming documentary "Good Hair"

Director Regina Kimbell filed a lawsuit in L.A. against comedian Chris Rock claiming copyright infringement and unfair competition for his upcoming documentary "Good Hair"

Kimbell argues she showed Rock her documentary "My Nappy Roots: A Journey Through Black Hair-itage" on the set of his "Everyone Hates Chris" sitcom two years ago and he stole the premise. "Nappy Roots" as well as "Good Hair" features black celebrities talking about popular black hairstyles from over the years, like the conk, Afro, Jheri curl and dreadlocks.

"Nappy Roots" documentary won the 2007 Hollywood Black Film Festival. Kimbell is seeking $5 million in damages and legal fees.
