Unlikely Hero for New Installment of "Predator"
20th Century Fox will recreate the "Predator" franchise with a new hero. The 1987 action film starred Arnold Schwarzenegger, arguably the godfather of the action movie. Adrien Brody, Oscar winning actor of "The Pianist," will fill the new role in the upcoming version, entitled "Predators." Brody was less known then, but made the awards memorable when he smooched Halle Berry before his acceptance speech. Since then (2002), the actor has made a name for himself playing more supporting roles, such as "The Darjeeling Limited," and "The Village."
Brody's range is commendable. Most of the characters he plays are quite different from one another, though many possess an eccentricity. Critics, however, speculate on whether Brody can carry a commercial film to the box office results required. His leading man roles tend to fall short of high ticket sales, like last year's "Cadillac Records" and 2006's "Hollywoodland."
People will probably flock to "Predators," if only because they want to see an updated version of the Schwarzenegger classic.
