The Phantom's Back
When first introduced to the world, Lloyd Webber's musical "Phantom of the Opera" was a hit. But the story is not over yet.
This time the central character has left the Paris Opera House for a new home, an amusement part. "Love Never Dies" will take place ten years after its predecessor in New York's Coney Island.
Again, Ramin Karimloo will return to the stage as the Phantom with his opposite played by Sierra Boggess. An album, featuring Summer Strallen, has already been recorded but has yet to reach stores and will not be made public until opening night.
This story will first be revealed at the London Adelphi Theater on March 9 and will hit Broadway theaters on November 11, 2010. It is also set to appear in Australian theaters in 2011, although a precise date has yet to be determined.
"I don't regard this as a sequel; it's a standalone piece," Webber told the Associated Press, who felt that the ending for the original Phantom was too boring to end the story.
