Playboy to Feature Marge Simpson

Is Playboy struggling to attract more readers? The November cover will feature the famed cartoon character Marge Simpson, the matriarch of the 20-year-old FOX animated series. The intention is to attract a younger audience since the average Playboy reader is 35, according to google.com.

This is a first for Playboy, who have had some of the biggest names in show business grace their cover. Like Heidi Montag before her, however, Marge will not reveal all. There will be implied nudity in a 3-page feature. The decision comes at an interesting time in the magazine world, where many publications seem to be holding on by a string.

In an effort to sustain competition, founder Hugh Hefner announced back in May (with the approach of its 50th anniversary) that the magazine would feature more articles and more celebrity photo shoots that aren't necessarily in the nude.

The issue hits newsstands Oct. 16.
