Nicolas Cage owes the IRS millions in back taxes.

Actor Nicolas Cage's latest battle isn't in his latest action film but with the Internal Revenue Service, to whom he owes a whopping $6.3 million,

According to an article on People.com, "The government has placed a tax lien on his vast real estate holdings because of $6 million in unpaid back taxes dating from 2007, the year of the 45-year-old actor's box office hits ‘Ghost Rider' and ‘National Treasure: Book of Secrets,' according to court papers.'"

On top of that, the IRS has an additional $350,000+ lien in unpaid taxes on Cage dating back from 2002 to 2004.

Yet, over his film career which has spanned decades, Cage, who was born Nicolas Kim Coppola, has wowed audiences with many memorable performances in numerous high-octane action movies and romantic comedies such as the 1987 Cher dramedy "Moonstruck," the 1992 romantic comedy "Honeymoon in Vegas," which also starred Sarah Jessica Parker and James Caan, the 1994 romantic comedy "It Could Happen to You," opposite Bridget Fonda, the 1997 action thriller "Con Air," which also starred Academy Award nominated actor John Malkovich, the 1998 romantic drama "City of Angels," opposite Meg Ryan, the 2000 action thriller "Gone in Sixty Seconds," opposite Angelina Jolie and Giovanni Ribisi, the 2004 action thriller "National Treasure" and its 2007 sequel "National Treasure: Book of Secrets."
