Taylor Swift and Michael Jackson Lead AMA Nominations

Nominees for the 37th American Music Awards have been announced, with Taylor Swift and Michael Jackson bagging the most nominations.

Today, on October 13th, in Los Angeles, Adam Lambert, Paula Abdul, and Snoop Dogg unveiled the list of nominees for the 37th annual American Music Awards, with Taylor Swift leading the pack this year with six nominations.

She is followed by Michael Jackson with five nominations (including Artist of the Year), Eminem with four, and Beyonce, Black Eyed Peas, Lady Gaga, Kings of Leon and T.I. with three each. Other nominees include Alicia Keys, Jay-Z and Jennifer Lopez.

The AMAs go by sales and air play, and are not based on the year the material was released, which is why posthumous awards can be granted.

Taylor Swift and Michael Jackson are both up for the Artist of the Year and Favorite Album awards.

AMA winners are determined by people's votes, with voting options at ama.abc.com, amavote.com, and mycokerewards.com. The show will air on Sunday, November 22 on ABC.
