Rihanna debuts new song today
R&B singer Rihanna released her new single today, titled "Russian Roulette". The song comes off her yet to be released fourth album "Rated R" due out November 23.
While a guest on the Ryan Seacrest radio show this morning, she played the song for listeners for the first time. The song is written and produced by Ne-Yo, and a video for the song is set to premiere soon on ABC.
According to People.com, "the soaring ballad follows a woman on the verge of taking a turn at the suicide game: 'You can see it through my chest/That I'm terrified/But I'm not leaving/I know that I must pass this test/So just pull the trigger.' The song, eerily ends with a gunshot."
Music critics feel that the song is about an abusive relationship, which might be right due ex-boyfriend Chris Brown's assault of her back in February.
The artwork for the single shows "Rihanna wearing a blond, slicked-back Mohawk, an eye patch and a corset. She's topless and tied up in barbed wire, but she looks defiantly at the camera, mouth slightly open, as she holds a chain hanging from the ceiling," as reported on MTV.com.
