New Moon Director May Stick Around For Final "Twilight" Chapter

Director Chris Weitz has received a lot of buzz for "New Moon," so much so he is a possible contender for the last installment of the series "Breaking Dawn"

Director Chris Weitz has done something very, very right. The director of "The Twilight Saga: New Moon" has received high marks so far in the few trailers and clips seen by fans that the franchise may use him for the final installment of the series, "Breaking Dawn." Of course, "New Moon" still has yet to be seen, and the choice is still undecided.

So far, each "Twilight" installment has used different directors for each film, with Catherine Hardwicke directing the debut, Chris Weitz following up with "New Moon" and David Slade is close to completing work on "Eclipse" (production is set to wrap within the next week or so). The buzz around "New Moon" has already reached epic proportions due to the extreme dedication of "Twilight" fans.

The full film will of course be more of an indicator of Weitz's directorial future with the franchise, and while the movie on the whole appears more action-packed and intense, the scenes between Bella and her men (Edward and Jacob) will have to be strong.

Those more romantic scenes will probably pan out pretty well; Weitz collaborated very closely with the mastermind of the "Twilight" series, author Stephenie Meyer.
