Morrissey, who quipped with his audience about having a good evening Saturday night and ended up with breathing difficulties before finishing the opening song "This Charming Man," has left the Great Western Hospital he was taken to after collapsing onstage. He had just begun a performance at the Oasis Leisure Centre in Swindon, Wiltshire.

The former Smiths frontman has been discharged after suffering from respiratory trouble which caused Morrissey to fall to the floor. The stage crew came to his aid and helped the performer off to the backstage area where an emergency ambulance was called.

Morrissey was taken to the hospital and was conscious upon arrival. A hospital spokesperson said, "Morrissey became unwell, and was admitted overnight as a precautionary measure. He's been seen by the medical team, much improved and now discharged home," reports the Guardian.

Morrissey's website reached out to fans noting "thanks go out to all his well wishers, more information will be posted as soon as it is available."

A sold out concert scheduled for Monday, Oct. 26 at Bournemouth Academy has been cancelled. Morrissey has been placed under doctor's instructions to rest.

Ticket holders for both Bournemouth and the Oct 24th Swindon Oasis Leisure Centre concert are being asked to hold on to their tickets and await further information regarding potential new dates or a refund.
