Jay-Z said of the performance: "As a die-hard Yankee fan, I'm honored to perform a song that celebrates the greatness of New York in one of our city's most important landmarks, Yankee Stadium," according to Entertainment Tonight’s Web site.
Jay-Z, 39, is currently on a U.S. fall tour, which was launched Oct. 9 and ends Nov. 22.The tour also stars newcomer J. Cole, Wale and N.E.R.D.
The New York Yankees will be taking on the Philadelphia Phillies in Game 1 at Yankee Stadium in New York City on Wednesday, Oct. 28 at 7:30 p.m. EST on FOX.
