Madonna launched her charity Raising Malawi in 2006 in an effort to help the impoverished country with food, medical care and education. She adopted her son David from Malawi in 2008 and returned earlier this year to adopt Mercy. Now she is launching a girls school for the poor girls on the outskirts of the capital.
Malawi is a nation of 12 million, a nation where 500,00 children are alone because their parents succumbed to Aids. And Madonna's contributions make a difference.
She visited the country Sunday, accompanied by her four children and will use the trip to meet with President Bingu wa Mutharika and visit charities, reported the Telegraph of the UK.
Her new school will be featured on Oprah.
