Is Deutschland a New Neverland?
There are reports that Michael Jackson will make plans to avoid the U.S. media blitz following his recent acquittal of charges of child molestation by moving to Germany's capital. Many close to Jackson say he has fallen in love with the German nation. Many might recall the recent toddler scandal a few years back where Jackson was seen dangling his child off the side of a German hotel balcony. Nevertheless, Jackson's personal advisor, Shawn Andrews, has said to journalists that Jackson "is a fan of Germany, and has fallen in love with the city of Berlin." It is expected that once his California property is sold, Jackson will build a similar Neverland ranch on the outskirts of Berlin. Potsdam reportedly is another possible building site.
The pop singer was expected to join his family in Berlin to celebrate his father Joseph Jackson's 76th birthday, however Jackson's website is reporting that he is unable to make the date and apologized to all his fans who were expecting his arrival. On the website, Michael says that he "would like to wish his father a very heartfelt 'Happy Birthday' and he hopes that everyone attending the event has a truly wonderful time." The Estrel Hotel in Berlin, the site of the grandiose gala, has been booked for 100 rooms and suites. In addition, of the over 1,000 guests who have been invited, most of who were selected fans, all will probably find one particular guest strikingly missing.
Of note, the only other public appearance made by Michael since his acquittal last month was his recent stop in Bahrain in the Middle East. Since then, the 46 year old media darling has yet to be seen in public.
