Broadway Bug Bites Scarlett Johansson
Actress Scarlet Johansson is doing what a lot of movie stars are doing nowadays: Broadway. The curvy star is said to revamp a version of Arthur Miller's "A View From the Bridge" on Dec. 28, according to Reuters
Johansson released showed off her pipes by releasing an album with musician Pete Yorn, so many think that she'll be perfect for Broadway.
However, some are concerned with her role in "A View From the Bridge." The rub being that the 24-year-old actress will be playing a role meant for a 17-year-old.
"Is it just me, or does the almost-25-year-old seem a tad old for this role? I know it's nothing new (especially for teen dramas on The CW), to cast adults in much younger roles, but even this seems like a stretch. Sure, makeup, costuming and, of course, good acting will all help Scarlett read younger, but with her husky voice and ample, uh, assets, I'm having a hard time imagining the bizarro world in which Scarlett could ever pass for teen." Writer Amy Wilkinson rants for MTV.com.
For those who seen the movie "Ghost World," you know that Johansson can play a 17-year-old very well. However, she was about 17 back then.
"A Veiw From the Bridge" is set to run for 14 weeks.
