Sarah Palin's $1.25 Million Memoir

Sarah Palin has been paid big bucks for her memoir "Going Rouge."

Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin is raking in the dough for revealing her life story in a memoir, "Going Rouge: An American Life."

HarperCollins publishing company has given Palin a $1.25 million "retainer" according to financial disclosure statements filed with the Alaska Public Offices Commission.

The Associated Press confirmed that the one-time Republican Vice Presidential hopeful earned a whopping $1.25 million for writing her 400-page memoir, "Going Rogue : An American Life." That's $3,125 per page!

HarperCollins has scheduled to release the hardcover on Nov. 17 release and plans to print run 1.5 million copies. The memoir is already on Amazon's bestseller list.

The former GOP's "It Girl" will appear on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" on Nov. 16 to promote her work.

The $1.25 million reported in the filing is probably only a portion of Palin's advance. Authors usually get an advance after they sign a contract, again when they submit a memoir, and once again when the book has been published.

Palin is getting paid.
