Shaquille O誰eal has applied to become a member of the Cleveland Police Department.
Shaquille O誰eal loves the city of Cleveland. So much so in fact, Shaq is willing to protect the city free of charge.
AP sources report that the newly acquired Cavalier center has applied to become a member of the Cleveland Police Department.
According to spokesman John O達rian of the Cuyhoga County sheriff痴 office, O誰eal has applied for the position of special deputy. This means that the O誰eal would be able to carry a gun and make arrests but would not receive any pay for his services.
The sheriff痴 office has reportedly forwarded the application to the state agency who will then decide whether or not to deputize O誰eal. If approved, state agency spokeswoman Holly Hollingworths said that Shaq would need 36 hours of police training and would have to pass the state of Ohio痴 police exam.
This would not be Shaq痴 first job in law enforcement. O誰eal has served roles with agencies in Arizona, Virginia and Florida.
