DawgPound set to protest team's losing ways
The DawgPound has been barking to no avail long enough.
The loyal group of Cleveland Browns fans known as the "DawgPound" want to show the team that their bite is as bad as the bark.
According to his website mobiledawg.com, Mike Randall or "DawgPound Mike," is trying to organize a protest for the game against the Baltimore Ravens on November 16.
"We're tired of the booing, of seeing fans leave in the fourth quarter," Randall said in an interview with ESPN. "There are fans who have had tickets for 30 years who are turning their seats in because they can't take it anymore. So many fans are fed up."
Randall is trying to convince Brown's fans to stay away from their seats for opening kickoff during the Monday night game. He is encouraging fans to stay on the main concourse, in the restrooms or outside the stadium until kickoff is completed. His hope is that the sight of so many empty sights on national television will force Brown's owner Randy Lerner to finally listen to the fans.
Randall says that there is no energy in the stadium during the games and that any attempts to talk with management have been denied.
The Brown's are a dismal 1-6 so far this year under first year head coach, Eric Mangini, only scoring 4 offensive touchdowns. The team has already benched starting quarterback Brady Quinn and traded number one receiver Braylon Edwards to the New York Jets.
Kickoff for game against the Ravens is set for 8:30 p.m. and will be nationally televised on ESPN.
