The Boondock Saints are Back!
Troy Duffy, director of the cult hit Boondock Saints, returns to the scene of his 1999 debut with The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day. Yes, 10 years later.
Sean Patrick Flanery and Norman Reedus reprise their roles of the righteous MacManus brothers/avengers, who are currently in hiding at hit-man dad Billy Connolly's Irish farm after their previous dregs-of-society-executing exploits.
But they find themselves back in Boston (and back to business) when a priest is murdered in the brothers' signature style, and it's up to them to find the real culprit.
According to Mike Hale at the New York Times:
"At least a quarter of his relentless gags may make you laugh. Like its predecessor, All Saints Day will, if nothing else, be a cult item for Roman Catholic schoolboys; the next sequel, blatantly set up, should arrive no later than 2019."
And Ty Burr of the Boston Globe thinks that, "for most of its running time, All Saints Day plays like a boozy, amiably foul-mouthed remedial school reunion."
Well, that's sure got us excited to watch it!
