30-Oct-2009
Written by: Matthew Livi

Tom Ricketts said in a press conference Friday that the Chicago Cubs will win the World Series.

The new owner of the Chicago Cubs “vows” to win the World Series, reports the Associated Press. Tom Ricketts made the promise during a news conference on Friday, where he also said he’d make some changes to Wrigley Field while trying to preserve its historic feel.
According to the Chicago Sun-Times Ricketts emphatically said, “We’re going to win the World Series.” Ricketts has also said that there are no plans at this time to sell the naming rights to Wrigley Field. Ricketts also stated that the team is not cursed, stating, “There is no curse. If anybody on our team thinks he’s cursed, we’ll move him to a lesser-cursed team.’’
