Charlize Theron to Star in New Mad Max Film
Charlize Theron has been given the leading role in the upcoming movie Mad Max,' reports BBC News.
Theron and British actor Tom Hardy are the only confirmed cast members for the film which is set to start filming next August in Australia.
Mad Max' is a series of films about a policeman who lives in a post-apocalyptic world. The first film was released in 1979 and was lead by Mel Gibson who starred in all three movies.
The fourth film called "Mad Max: Fury Road," due to begin filming in August, will be distributed by Warner Brothers and written and directed by George Miller, director of "Babe" and the 2006 animated comedy "Happy Feet."
Theron is an Academy Award-winning actress for her role as a serial killer in the 2003 drama "Monster."
Hardy, who will star opposite Theron, appears in the television series "Wuthering Heights," and the film "Thick as Thieves."
