Rena Sofer joins the cast of 'NCIS'
Rena Sofer has been cast as a recurring character on the CBS hit crime drama "NCIS."
According to an article on HollywoodReporter.com, "She will play a no-nonsense attorney with mysterious motives."
Sofer's last television appearance was in the Hallmark Channel movie "Always & Forever," which also featured actress Tori Spelling's husband Dean McDermott and Barbara Eden, star of the hit 1960s NBC sitcom "I Dream of Jeannie."
Sofer has also recurred on several episodes of the Fox action series "24," the NBC science fiction drama series "Heroes" and was a series regular during the seventh and final season of the hit Fox nighttime drama "Melrose Place."
Yet, Sofer is best known for her work on the soap opera "General Hospital," where she played the role of Lois Cerullo Ashton from 1994 to 1996. Her portrayal of the quirky band manager earned her a Daytime Emmy Award in 1995 for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.
Sofer can be seen next on the silver screen in the Gold Circle Films motion picture "The New Daughter" opposite Kevin Costner and Samantha Mathis.
"NCIS" premiered Sept. 23, 2003 on CBS and was a spin-off of the adventure legal drama "JAG," which is the American Military acronym for Judge Advocate General. "NCIS" is about the inner workings of a fictional team of special agents from the Naval Criminal Investigative Service who probe into criminal investigations involving the U.S. Navy and the Marine Corps. It stars veteran actor Mark Harmon and Michael Weatherly among others.
