Charlize Theron, Tom Hardy To Star In "Mad Max 4"

The writer-director of the Mad Max trilogy, George Miller, is working on making another. This one will be called "Mad Max 4: Fury Road."

Unfortunately Mel Gibson is not reprising his iconic role of Max Rockatansky, the toughened ex-cop in a future plagued by gas shortages and murderous gangs.

The story line is staying under wraps but Charlize Theron will play the lead female character. Charlize Theron won the Oscar for Best Female in a Leading Role for the 2003 movie "Monster). It is strongly believed Tom Hardy, British-born actor who played gay gangster Handsome Bob in the Guy Ritchie film "RockNRolla," will play Max Rockatansky.

What is known about the movie is Max will be kept young with the "Mad Max 4" will take place a short time after the story detailed in 1985's "Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome."

The filmmakers are hoping to start filming in Australia by the summer of 2010.
