Michael Jackson’s “This Is It“ tops box office.
Michael Jackson's "This Is It" was created to document his last days of rehearsal for a concert he could never have. The film was released Wednesday and soared to the top of the box office Friday, as fans gathered this Halloween to remember the King of Pop.
MTV reported that the film generated $7.9 million Friday alone, $19.1 million total.
But AEG is unhappy. They predicted the film to generate $250 million within five days of its release, a figure that is no longer realistic. In fact, it is estimated that "This Is It" will have earned $32.5 million by Sunday, a figure far from AEG's goal.
