After impressive win at Oklahoma St. Texas jumps Alabama in the AP poll
Texas has regained its position as the number two ranked team in the country.
A day after an impressive 41-14 win at Oklahoma State, the Longhorns jumped Alabama in the AP poll. The Longhorns started the season ranked second but had trailed the Crimson Tide for the past three weeks.
“Pretty easy decision for me: Texas is simply a more complete team than Alabama right now," said Craig James of ABC Sports.
Florida, who has been number one for all but one week this season, maintained their position after easily handling Georgia 41-17. The Gators received 38 first place votes.
Florida, Alabama, Cincinnati and Boise St. round out the AP’s top 5 teams.
Oregon jumped to number 7 after beating USC at home, becoming the highest ranked team with one loss. The Ducks sit one spot ahead of the unbeaten Hawkeyes who needed a fourth quarter comeback to beat Indiana.
