Simpson took to her Twitter account to insult “Melrose Place,“ but little sis Ashlee does not seem fazed her firing.
Jessica Simpson turned a Twitter post into an angry diatribe against the CW’s “Melrose Place” on Sunday night.
The singer’s sister, Ashlee Simpson-Wentz, was recently let go from the show, and big sis is clearly no longer a fan of the series if her recent Tweet is any indication.
“CW catching up on MP,” Simpson tweeted, reports PEOPLE. “Who writes this crap? i have had bad scripts to work with, but this? Thank God my sister is amazing and got you some press.”
According to the latest issue of Us Weekly, producers agreed that Simpson-Wentz was advantageous for her ability to draw attention, but was not so sure on the “amazing” part.
Many sources included an article in the magazine admitted that Simpson-Wentz was not considered to be outstandingly talented, or talented at all, reports UsMagazine.com.
“They hired her because they needed a good name to help create a buzz,” an insider told Us. “But she was embarrassingly bad. Producers cut her down as much as possible.”
The fired actress either did not get this impression, or was not slighted by it. Her recent statement about her removal from the show did not indicate any animosity.
“Having the chance to play Violet on ‘Melrose Place’ has been a thrill,” she said. “Although I always knew her story would come to a final, insanely unpredictable end, playing a creepy unstable character was something I always wanted to do, so I jumped at the chance. Thanks to the CW and the entire cast and crew of “Melrose Place” for allowing me this opportunity.”
She is also not letting this setback stop her from continuing on the acting path. Another source told Us that Simpson-Wentz, who has an 11 month old baby, Bronx, does not plan on returning to singing.
“She’s reading scripts,” the source said. “Acting is her focus now.”
