Rihanna Will Open Up About Attack
3-Nov-2009
Written by: Marjorie Quinn

Rihanna will talk for the first time about being assaulted by her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown in an interview with Diane Sawyer.

Rihanna, 21, will tell ABC’s Diane Sawyer what happened on the night of the Grammy Awards in February. Singer Chris Brown, 20, was sentenced to five years probation and six months community service in August for the attack on Rihanna.

The interview with Diane Sawyer will air this week on Thursday on ABC’s “Good Morning America” and Friday on “20/20.” According to ABC Rihanna reveals Brown “was definitely my first big love." She also adds, "This happened to me - it can happen to anyone." In the interview Rihanna will also talk about how she has been since the assault, growing up in Barbados, and her family life.

Both singers are working on moving on. Brown is working on new music for an album titled “Graffiti” that is scheduled for release on Dec.15. Rihanna had her album’s first single “Russian Roulette” debuted last week. Rihanna is set to release her fourth album titled “Rated R” on Nov. 23.
