Owen Wilson Signs On To "Marmaduke"

Owen Wilson has signed on to voice the character of Great Dane "Marmaduke."

Fox is making an adaptation of the long-running comic strip, "Marmaduke." Actor Owen Wilson will supply the voice for the trouble starting Great Dane, "Marmaduke." Wilson, 40, has acted in "Marley and Me," "Starsky and Hutch," and was the voice for Lightning McQueen in the animated film "Cars."

Tom Dey, who directed "Failure To Launch", is directing this family comedy. "Marmaduke" follows the Winslow family. In the movie the family will relocate from Kansas to Orange County with Marmaduke who causes trouble wherever he goes and starts a war between pedigree and mutt dogs.

The movie will be live-action/CG and has a release date for June 2010. Other cast members include Judy Greer, Lee Pace and William H. Macy to play the humans.

Other stars that will supply voices are Fergie, Emma Stone, George Lopez, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Steve Coogan, Damon Wayans, Marlon Wayans.
