Written by: Danielle Hazell

Wilson has been casted as a dog named Marmaduke in the upcoming CGI Fox film

Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian screening in Washington.

Owen Wilson has been casted as the voice of Marmaduke in Fox’s CGI/live-action movie adaptation of the long running comic. The comic has been around for 55 years and is single-panel.

The “Failure To Launch” director, Tom Dey, will also be directing the family friendly comedy.

“Marmaduke” is about the Winslow family and their move from Kansas to Orange County with dog Marmaduke who is the center of mischief wherever he goes and causes a war between mutt and pedigree dogs.

The cast also includes Judy Greer, Lee Pace and William H. Macy who all play humans. On the flipside George Lopez, Emma Stone, Fergie, Steve Coogan, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Marlon and Damon Wayans will lend their voices to characters.

Wilson, 40, has also been the voice of race car Lightning McQueen in the animated film “Cars” and has done voice work for the upcoming animated picture by Wes Anderson called “The Fantastic Mr. Fox”.

“Marmaduke” is slated for a June 2010 release.
