The York Times reported that this year’s Academy Awards will be hosted by Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin. The announcement was made on Tuesday that the two funnymen will be bringing some laughs to the Oscars.

While the two might seem a random pair to host the show, they are actually co-starring in an upcoming film, so hosting together seems like a promotional stroke of genius. “It’s Complicated” will open on Christmas Day, and is directed by Nancy Meyers and stars Martin and Baldwin fighting for Meryl Streep.

There is no doubt that the two will be an entertaining team. Martin hosted the awards twice in the past, in both 2001 and 2003. Baldwin has never hosted the show, but he did nab himself a nomination for his 2004 role in “The Cooler.” The Academy Awards will air on March 7 on ABC.
