Rihanna plans to help young women
4-Nov-2009
Written by: Elaine Campion

Rihanna wants to put her unfortunate experience with Chris Brown to use and help others involved in abusive relationships.

Chanel - Paris Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2010

Rihanna is bouncing back from her abusive relationship with Chris Brown and hopes to turn it into something positive.

The Associated Press reported that the singer has had a hard time dealing with the media frenzy that resulted from leaked pictures of her bruised face back in February after an altercation with her now ex-boyfriend. After pleading guilty, Brown was sentenced to five years’ probation, six months of community service, and a year of domestic violence counseling.

Now Rihanna wants to speak for young women and domestic violence. In a quote from the AP article, she said, "Domestic violence is a big secret. The positive thing that has come out of my situation is that people can learn from that.”
