The CW advertises for racy Gossip Girl episode.
The CW's "Gossip Girl" has aired previews for its next episode. But these previews have brought up a questionable topic: threesomes. And now the Parents Television Council, who have complained about the show on various occasions, is urging the network not to air the episde next Monday.
The commercial depicts three main characters, unidentified, among the letters "3SOME."
"CW has been defending graphic content on 'Gossip Girl' by asserting that they don't target teenagers," Tim Winter, PTC President, said Wednesday to the Associated Press. "Such a claim doesn't even pass the 'laugh test.'"
The group issued complaints about the popular television show in 2008 when the show began advertising its upcoming season with sex scenes. And the PTC concern is that this sexual television show is targeting a teenage audience.
In a letter to the affiliates, Winter asked: "Will you now be complicit in establishing a precedent and expectation that teenagers should engage in behaviors heretofore associated primarily with adult films?"
