New music will emerge from Slash as he puts the final touches on his highly anticipated solo album due for release next spring.

He's currently in the studio and according to Twitter updates he's, "recording the final track for my record, finally. Record will be completely done this month."

What a great feeling for the guitarist. To finally have the freedom and control over a project and have it come to fruition. He's earned it. His final days with Guns N' Roses highlighted the best and worst of what rock and roll has to offer. The Use Your Illusion Tour would last over 2 years and break attendance records. Concerts became riots. Band members fought with each other. Singer Axl Rose got into fisticuffs with audience members. Nothing could be agreed upon except that the band was imploding and it was for all to witness.

When the album "Chinese Democracy" finally made its debut a small army of impressive musicians and engineers made the list. Only Axl Rose remained from the original line up. By 1996 Slash, born Saul Hudson, had enough.

"I just feel for people that don't seem to get it. All things considered, it's been a really long time, and everybody's moved on," he told BBC 6 Music. "At the same time I appreciate that I was part of a band that had such a huge impact and touched so many people, and I feel bad for them that it's not around, but it is what it is ..."

The album, simply titled "Slash" boasts an impressive line-up the guitarist cherry picked to work with including; Ozzy Osbourne, Iggy Pop, Lemmy, Alice Cooper, Dave Grohl, Flea and his former GNR band mates, Steven Adler Duff McKagan and Izzy Stradlin. So far the only no show on the album is Jack White who refused to sing but agreed to play drums or guitar if need be.

With his solo album being released on Roadrunner Slash is looking forward to putting all the pieces together and appreciates the opportunity he has been given with this record.

"It's just nice to be in charge of my own destiny, even if it's just for one record. Just not to be in a group situation and at the mercy of what everybody as a whole feels, but being responsible for my own decisions and having the final say. It's nice, ‘cause I've been doing this diplomatic band stuff for so long, I needed to get it out of my system."
