Meryl Streep's Daughter Steps Into Spotlight
Grace Gummer, Meryl Streep's third child with husband Don Gummer, is set to follow in her mother's footsteps.
"Gigantic," a dramatic series set to air on TeenNick early next year, will be starring the 23-year-old actress, as well as 19-year-old Gia Mantegna, daughter of actor Joe Mantegna.
Gummer will be portraying the fictional, whirlwind life of the 17-year-old daughter of a celebrity couple residing in Hollywood.
Marjorie Cohn, an executive vice president for Nickelodeon, states that their "audience loves celebrity and pop culture, and Gigantic' gives them a unique, relatable teen perspective on a world they rarely get to see."
Defying her mother's efforts to keep her out of the celebrity spotlight, Gummer is no stranger to acting. Last year, she had a stint in a New York stage production called "The Sexual Neuroses of Our Parents."
Correction: A previous version of this article inaccurately stated that Grace Gummer appeared in "Taking Woodstock" and "John Adams".
