Parental group encourages viewers not to watch the next episode of Gossip Girl due to inappropriate sexual content.
Promos for this Monday’s “Gossip Girl” episode have a group of parents infuriated at the network, Us Magazine reported.
Advertisements shown on air hint a possible threesome between the three main characters of the series “Gossip Girl.”
The Parents Television Council asked the CW network not to air the episode saying it was reckless and irresponsible to show it to impressionable teenagers. Last year the same group complained about the advertisements promoting the new season, which showed the characters in “morally questionable” scenarios.
According to a spokesperson for the CW the median age of the series is 27 years old, a statement which the Parents Television Council thinks ridiculous and untrue.
“Gossip Girl” has been a hit on the television network the CW for three seasons since it began in 2007. Starring, among others, Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, Ed Westwick and Chase Crawford all of who engage in sexual encounters during the episodes.
