Girardi Helps Crash Victim After World Series Win
5-Nov-2009
Written by: Matthew Livi

New York Yankees manager Joe Girardi assisted a car crash victim after the Yankees defeated the Philadelphia Phillies to win the World Series.

Shortly after leading the New York Yankees to their first World Series title since 2000, Yankees manager Joe Girardi pulled over to assist an injured motorist on his way home, reports FOXSports.com. After the Yankees defeated the Philadelphia Phillies 7-3 to win the World Series in six games and the celebrations were over, Girardi stopped on his way home to help a woman who had crashed into a wall.
The crash victim, Marie Henry, had not suffered any significant injuries, reports MLB.com. Henry did not know who Joe Girardi was until she was told by a police officer, Kathleen Cristiano. Even those who hate the Yankees have to give credit where credit is due for this act of thoughtfulness.
