Golden Girls Star Recovering from Heart Surgery
Who didn't love "Golden Girls"? And if you're a fan, you definitely remember Blanche Devereaux, the feisty older-aged woman who had the sex drive of a college kid. One of the younger of the stars, Rue McClanahan, had a heart bypass surgery this past Wednesday at a New York City hospital and is currently recovering.
At 75, McClanahan was preparing for a knee operation when the problem was discovered. In the jovial, youthful spirit of Blanche, the actress commented that the surgery was nothing more than "some maintenance on the old ticker."
Del Shores, friend, colleague, and American film director and producer, said the surgery went without any complications. Doctors expect a speedy recovery.
McClanahan's November performance at a New York club is currently postponed.
