Oprah May Move to Cable

Oprah Winfrey will be making an announcement on the future of her show by the end of the year.
Women across America are all wondering, is she moving or isn’t she?
Oprah is in talks with the cable network OWN, a partnership with Discovery, in regards to moving her show from CBS. It is expected Oprah will make the decision by the end of the year whether or not she will continue her syndicated talk show into September 2011.
Oprah’s current contract goes into the 2010-2011 season. Oprah is currently in her 24th season.
According to New York Daily News’ Web site, there has been pressure from the Discovery network, which will transform Discovery Health to the Oprah Winfrey Network. The network is trying to get the station converted by 2011.
A lot of signs seem to be hinting at Oprah moving to the OWN network because she is making a move to Hollywood, where OWN is located.
Will the daytime talk show queen be leaving syndication behind? Guess we’ll have to wait and see.
