Kimberley Munley Praised for Heroic Efforts that Subdued Fort Hood Killer

Sergeant Kimberley Munley is being labeled as a hero for her efforts to stop Fort Hood gunman Nidal Malik Hasan

Civilian police officer Sergeant Kimberly Munley is being hailed as a hero for her performance that put a stop to the tragic Fort Hood killings that resulted in the deaths of 13 people yesterday. According to Guardian.co.uk, Munley arrived on the scene once she had been informed of the shooting rampage that was occurring at Fort Hood, rushed into the building, confronted gunman Nidal Malik Hasan and opened fire on him as he turned a corner.

Despite being wounded in the confrontation, Sergeant Munley shot the gunman four times to subdue the gunman and prevent any more fatalities from occurring. Reportedly, Sergeant Munley opened fire on Army psychiatrist Nidal Malik Hasan from just a few feet away and acted with admirable aggression to put an end to the tragedy. The New York Daily News is reporting that she is currently in stable condition and spent last night wanting to learn about the casualties.

Fort Hood Lieutenant General Bob Cone described how proud he was of Sergeant Munley's efforts by saying, "It was an amazing and an aggressive performance by this police officer. She walked up and engaged him. She is one of our most impressive young police officers". Cone went on to describe that Munley learned the importance of aggressiveness during her training since aggressive action often results in less fatalities.
