President Obama Promotes Health Care Bill to U.S. House Reps

The President spoke to members of the House of Representatives earlier today, urging them to vote in favor of the proposed health care reform bill
President Barack Obama addressed members of the U.S. House of Representatives on Saturday morning in an attempt to persuade them into voting in favor of the proposed health care reform bill. It was reported late on Friday night that prominent Democrats stayed up late into the night making revisions to the original health care bill in order to potentially sway voters who were previously undecided.
The Wall Street Journal is reporting that President Obama described today’s health care vote as a potentially historic opportunity for House Democrats. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi expressed firm confidence upon being asked about whether she believed the health care legislation would be passed, saying, “We will pass health care reform.”
The Democratic Party needs to secure 218 votes from House Democrats in order to have the bill passed today since it was reported by Fox News on Friday that House Republicans will unanimously vote against health care reform.
During his speech to House members earlier this morning, President Obama said, "This is our moment to live up to the trust that the American people have placed in us. Even when it's hard. Especially when it's hard. It is a bill that is fully paid for and will actually reduce our federal deficit.”
