Sosa's Skin Color Still Topic of Conversation from Latin Grammy's
Although the 2009 Latin Grammy Awards took place last week, there is still plenty of people within the media discussing the altered appearance of Sammy Sosa's skin. Sosa, a former Major League Baseball player for the Chicago Cubs who was rumored to have taken performance enhancing drugs throughout his career, is enduring a rejuvenation process for his skin and it appears to be turning him white.
In photographs that were taken of Sosa at the 2009 Latin Grammy Awards, his skin color appeared to be several shades lighter than it had been during his baseball career. The drastic difference between his skin color from several years ago and his skin color at last week's Latin Grammy's led many to compare his change in appearance to Michael Jackson's.
The Chicago Tribune is reporting that former Cubs employee and close friend of Sosa, Rebecca Polihronis, has come forward to say that his skin color was altered significantly by lighting. She said, "He is going through a rejuvenation process for his skin. Women have it all of the time. He was surprised he came out looking so white. I thought it was a body double. Part of [the photo appearance] is just the lighting. He is in the middle of doing a cleansing process to his skin. The picture is deceiving."
