Former President Clinton to Speak About Health Care to Senate Democrats
9-Nov-2009
Written by: TheCelebrityCafe.com Staff

The 42nd President of the United States will speak to Senate Democrats about health care on Tuesday during a weekly luncheon event

The Democratic Party’s health care reform bill was passed on Saturday night by the U.S. House of Representatives by a 220 to 215 vote. The bill required 218 votes to receive approval and all but one of the 220 House Representatives who voted in favor of the health care bill were House Democrats. Although the bill has passed its first crucial test, it is now headed to the Senate where the outcome of the pending vote is far less certain than it was in the House of Representatives.

Former U.S. President Bill Clinton will be attending Tuesday’s weekly luncheon in an attempt to rally Senate Democrats behind the health care reform bill. CNN.com is reporting that two reliable senior Democratic sources have confirmed that Clinton will be attending tomorrow’s luncheon to try and rally Senate Democrats behind the health care proposal.

An announcement was sent out to all Democratic Senators earlier today in regards to Tuesday’s luncheon. The announcement stated, "All Senators should be aware that former President Clinton will be making a presentation on Health Care at tomorrow's caucus lunch. Senator Reid has requested that all Democratic Senators attend."

Political experts are predicting that Clinton’s key message to Democratic Senators will be that they must unite in order to make positive change. There will likely be an emphasis on appealing to wavering Democrats who are currently unsure about which way to vote.
