Keeping Up With the Kardashians Scores A Big Night in Television
A few days after announcing their want for a baby, the wedding of Khloe Kardashian and Los Angeles Laker Lamar Odom aired on the E! Entertainment Network Sunday night.
The two-hour special had 3.2 million viewers.
"Keeping Up With the Kardashians," produced by American Idol host Ryan Seacrest, first aired in 2007 and follows the lives of the Kardashian-Jenner family. Khloe, 25, and Odom, 30, announced their engagement in September, only a month after meeting at a party.
The wedding took place September 27 (notice how that's the same month as the engagement...moving a little fast, eh?) at a Beverly Hills mansion. About 250 guests were in attendance, including Seacrest and Lakers teammate, Kobe Bryant.
"I was skeptical to have everything documented because it was such an emotional time but now that's its done I think it is such a positive and beautiful thing," Khloe told CNN. "I don't think any of us expected the show or this episode to do so well. In the beginning we just did it for fun, for ourselves and it has snowballed into this huge thing. I am just shocked every time I see the numbers and hear all the comments."
The special episode didn't only cover the wedding, but showed when Khloe's family freaked out over her engagement announcement and the gradual convincing that their love is real.
As for Odom, he reportedly enjoyed the show and how it portrayed the ceremony, although he didn't particularly like the part when he teared up.
Khloe says that they are destined to "be together forever," but we all know how these Hollywood relationships work out. Either way, the outcome will undoubtedly be compressed, edited, and released on television for everyone's enjoyment.
