Third Terrorist Attack in Pakistan in Three Days Kills 34 on Tuesday
The Los Angeles Times is reporting that the third terrorist attack in Pakistan over the last three days has reportedly occurred in Charsadda where a suicide bomber set off a car bomb blast that killed 34 people. With Pakistani's and the Taliban in the midst of a bitter war with one another, militants have shifted their focus from attacking authorities to going after common civilians.
A car that was full of explosives was driven directly into an extremely crowded traffic intersection where the vehicle exploded, disrupted electrical wiring and tore through shops in the area. Charsadda police official Riaz Khan has released a statement claiming that at least 50 other people were injured in the car bomb blast.
Although today's suicide bombing in Charsadda, Pakistan is the third act of terrorism to occur in the area over the past three days, terrorist attacks also devastated Pakistan in October. According to The Los Angeles Times, a similar car bomb blast was set off on October 28th at a Peshawar, Pakistan woman's bazaar where 118 civilians, predominantly women and children, were killed.
A suicide car bomb blast occurred early in October on the 9th of the month at a Peshawar marketplace that resulted in the death of 53 people.
