Laptop computer owners who plan on taking flights this holiday season to visit with loved ones or simply to travel for any other reason will be pleased to learn that Google will be providing free Wi-Fi access in 47 airports located throughout the country from now until January 15, 2010. Google has announced that they will be implementing this service in collaboration with Advanced Wireless Group, Boingo Wireless and Airport Marketing Income.By subsidizing free Wi-Fi access in 47 airports nationwide, Google is appealing to all individuals who own devices such as laptop computers, iPhones and iPod Touches that are compatible with wireless internet access. According to Google, the free Wi-Fi access is being granted to those traveling through participating airlines in order to, "Make the holiday travel crush a little easier."While this generosity is undeniably admirable it is also expected to strongly enhance their company image since travelers will conveniently have access to high speed Wi-Fi internet during a time when they could use it the most. This decision should also generate support for Google's motive in the nation's capitol where the company is currently lobbying to have high-speed wireless internet be more accessible nationwide, according to CNet.com.PCWorld.com is reporting that Google's generosity may also encourage the Wi-Fi access users to donate to one of the handful of non-profit organizations that are teaming up with Google this holiday season.
