Michael Jackson's Funeral Ceremony Cost Upwards of $1 Million
People.com has released information regarding the expenses of Michael Jackson's funeral, which occurred in September. They are reporting that Jackson's funeral cost upwards of $1 million and court documents provided an elaborately detailed list of other expenses from the event. Michael Jackson was dressed in a $35,000 suit before being laid to rest and the price of entombing the pop music icon inside of the Grand Mausoleum was $590,000.
One of the most expensive aspects of Jackson's lavish funeral ceremony was security, which cost more than $175,000. Other expenses that took thousands of dollars from Jackson's estate to cover included transportation, invitations, decorative flowers and the framing of the picture that was placed next to his $25,000 casket. All of the expenses from Jackson's funeral ceremony were covered by his estate that he left behind.
Reports of Jackson's funeral expenses have been released in light of the current war that is ongoing between Jackson's parents, Katherine and Joe, over their son's fortune. Due to Joe Jackson's tumultuous relationship with his son, he was not a part of Michael Jackson's will and he has finalized a petition to request money from his son's estate, according to EOnline.com. Katherine Jackson is reportedly set to receive $26,000 per month but had been dissatisfied with the amount she was receiving.
