Taylor Swift Wins Coveted Entertainer of the Year Award at 2009 CMAAs
Country singer Taylor Swift, 19, was nominated in four separate categories at the 2009 Country Music Association Awards, which were held earlier tonight. People.com is reporting that Swift was victorious in all four categories that she was nominated in including the coveted Entertainer of the Year award. Swift received an award for Album of the Year for her multi-platinum selling "Fearless" and another for Female Vocalist of the Year.
With tears in her eyes as she accepted the award for Entertainer of the Year at the conclusion of the 2009 Country Music Association Awards, Swift provided a statement that illustrated her appreciation during her acceptance speech that reads, "I will never forget this moment because in this moment everything I have ever wanted has just happened to me."
Interestingly enough, the 2009 Country Music Association Awards began with a powerful performance from Swift, who sang "Forever and Always" to kick off the evening's festivities. The 2009 CMAAs came to a fitting conclusion when the 19-year-old country music sensation received the event's most coveted award.
People.com is reporting that the co-hosts for the 2009 Country Music Association Awards, country singers Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood, mocked hip-hop artist Kanye West throughout the evening for West's unforgettable interruption of Swift's acceptance speech after she won the award for Best Female Video at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards.
